About Rob

Rob McGarry is a Realtor and Licensed Broker with South Bay Brokers, Inc. in Manhattan Beach. Rob and his wife, Erin, live in Hermosa Beach. They met and married at American Martyrs Church, and remain actively involved in the parish. Erin is a Pediatrician, caring for the infants, children and adolescents of the South Bay from her private practice in Torrance. In December of 2005, Rob and Erin welcomed a baby of their own. Kylie Rose McGarry was born 12/4/05.

Rob has been a South Bay resident for most of his life.  He was raised in South Redondo, where he attended St. James for elementary and junior high school and Bishop Montgomery for high school.  Rob continued his education just down the coast at the University of San Diego where he earned a Bachelor of Accountancy.  He played just about every sport imaginable growing up, including baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, football, and surfing, but nothing really captured his attention like volleyball.  Even with the busy schedule that comes with Real Estate, Rob still heads down to the beach to play volleyball whenever he can. 

After college, Rob moved to Denver to begin his professional career with Price Waterhouse.  Accounting, however, did not satisfy Rob’s entrepreneurial spirit, and as such, was short-lived.  He quickly changed gears and began building a business as an Executive Search Consultant, or Headhunter.  Rob established a very successful practice over his 6 years in the business, but was never fully satisfied with his choice of career.  It was then that he decided to explore the world of Real Estate, and he hasn’t looked back!  He quickly became one of the top agents at South Bay Brokers, and continues to enjoy much success thanks to referrals from family, friends and past clients.

Having purchased his first home at 23, Rob always had an affinity for Real Estate.  While he initially made the purchase for tax purposes and the chance to build some equity, he quickly found that there was much more to owning a home than just the financial benefits.  Rob discovered that buying and selling a home is one of the most emotional processes a person can go through.  Having the right person to guide you on that journey is invaluable.  Rob knew then, and he knows now that he is that person.
